Lawyers demand withdrawal of cases

Lawyers demand withdrawal of cases

Sangareddy (Medak): Members of Telangana Advocates JAC Medak district unit staged a demonstration near the District Court complex in Sangareddy on Monday protesting against the State Government attitude initiating action against the Telangana advocates. It may be noted that the Telangana advocates staged protest at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on December 16 demanding a clear assurance from the State Government on the issue of separate Telangana state. However, police arrested 36 advocates and the State Government gave its clearance to register cases against the arrested advocates. Condemning the prosecution move by the Government, the advocates burnt the effigy of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Sangareddy. Advoctes JAC leaders Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Prathap Reddy and others participated in the agitation. Nalgonda:  The Telangana lawyers in the town organized a rally from the district court to the clock tower and burnt the copies of the Government Order 2348 that imposed cases on them. District Telangana Lawyers Joint Action Committee convener Venkateshwarlu expressed surprise over the government’s action in ordering an enquiry against the Telangana lawyers who were agitating for the Telangana state when it announced that the cases against them were withdrawn.  Speaking to the media in the town on Monday, he said that the cases filed against them were illegal. Mahbubnagar: Advocates in the district boycotted courts on Monday and held protest demonstrations. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of GO 2348
which deals with the prosecution of lawyers of the Telangana region who took part in the agitation demanding a separate state. Lawyers took out rallies in Mahbubnagar and Achhampet and protested.
